In the December 2024 issue (3/4) of Europa Ethnica, Andreas Raffeiner from the University of Innsbruck wrote an excellent review of Volume 6 of the Convivenza Book Series, titled Innovation and Learning to Manage Diversity in Governance. The same issue also features an article by Raoul Blindenbacher, titled Little Changes in Minority Politics with Great Impact: The Governmental Learning Spiral – The Convivenza Foundation’s Method to Improve the Lives and Institutions of Small Cultural, Linguistic, and Religious Communities.
The Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN) represents the interests of the European minorities - on regional, national and in particular on the European level. Romedi Arquit, Vice President of the Convivenza Foundation and former president of FUEN, spoke on a high-level panel about the organizations 75th anniversary. The event took place in Husum, Germany, from September 18 till 21 2024.
In collaboration with the Summer University of the Institute of Federalism at the University of Fribourg/Switzerland the Convivenza Foundation organized a special lecture given by Professor Joseph Marko on “Human and Minority Rights in Crisis”. More than 50 participants from more than a dozen countries around the world attended the event, which took place at the University of Fribourg, August 14, 2024. From July 1 till 12, 2024, Eurac Research organized a Summer School on Human Rights, Minorities and Diversity Governance in Bolzano/Italy (https://summerschool.eurac.edu). In his capacity as president of the Convivenza Foundation, Dr. Raoul Blindenbacher carried through a one-day seminar where he presented the foundations method of operandi. The seminar title was “The Governmental Learning Spiral – A Tool to solve Minority and Diversity Issues in Governance”. The Convivenza Foundation is planning to co-organize with Eurac Research the next Summer School in 2026.

On March 22, 2024 the Convivenza Foundation held its annual Board meeting at the Cercle de la Grande Société in Berne. At this occasion Lisa Hierlemann-Aebi resigned from the board after five years of duty. The Board thanked Lisa for her extraordinary contributions and wished her the best for the upcoming retirement. At the same time the Board elected unanimously Jon Pult, Member of the National Council of Switzerland, as its new member. We congratulate Jon to his appointment and look forward working with him in the future.
